FACT:  FLINT RIVER RANCH DRY KIBBLE IS TWICE-OVEN BAKED.

Our FLINT RIVER RANCH NATURAL FORMULA is slowly TWICE-OVEN BAKED under carefully controlled conditions and proper temperatures.  We pay a premium for all of our dog food ingredients to ensure quality. Manufacturing is monitored every 15 minutes for quality control.  Our food is manufactured at our plant in California.

The unique oven baking process changes the hard-to-digest molecules of "raw" starches into easy to digest dextrines.  This process acts as a "pre-digest" of the kibble food resulting in less strain on the dog's digestive system and allowing for a greater degree of food absorption.  Our most recent "cook" digestibility test was 95.15%!

A dog's intestinal tract is short; it functions in the most efficient manner when the food is concentrated and can be quickly digested.  The important vitamins, minerals, and food ingredients can then be easily assimilated into the dog's digestive system.

In the oven-baking process a small 2" biscuit is baked, moving slowly through the oven and then broken into smaller, irregular kibble ranging in size from tiny morsels to about 1/2".  The smaller morsels create immediate nutritional value for a pet; the larger crunchier kibble with a "cracked" exterior helps to naturally clean teeth, exercise the gums, and freshen breath.

FACT:  FEEDING FLINT RIVER RANCH OVEN-BAKED FOODS REQUIRES 20% LESS FOOD THAN STEAM-EXTRUDED FOOD. 

Since oven-baked food is concentrated there is more value with less food consumed.  Pet owners will find less odor and stool clean-up.

FACT:  FLINT RIVER RANCH NATURAL DOG FOOD IS CORN FREE.

While an excellent grain, corn is more difficult to digest by either humans or dogs.  Corn is never used as an ingredient in our dog food.  Corn gluten meal may cause allergies in some dogs.

FACT:  YOU WILL NEVER FIND CHEMICAL PRESERVATIVES, BY-PRODUCTS, FILLERS, ARTIFICIAL COLORS OR FLAVORS IN FLINT RIVER RANCH PET FOODS.

The common chemicals used to prevent rancidity in pet food are BHA and BHT.  Both are know to cause liver and kidney dysfunction.  Another fat stabilizer often used is Ethoxyquin.  Ethoxyquin is banned in dog food in Europe and is considered a hazardous chemical under the criteria of OSHA HAZARD COMMUNICATIONS standards.  Propylene glycol, a cousin to antifreeze, is found in many semi-moist dog foods and treats. The average-sized dog (44 pounds) can consume 26 pounds of preservatives each year! 

By-products are parts of animals not fit for human consumption.  Ingredients listed as beef,chicken, and poultry by-products are not required to include actual meat.

NUGGET SIZE KIBBLE:  Same great ingredients as our original formula but made for the larger sized dog.  Nugget is about 1/4" x 5/8" rectagular in shape with a harder, darker edge.
